Hello!
tell, did proctologists give someone a referral for a colonoscopy after complaining of anal fissures?? I read about this procedure - my hair stands on end. This is torture!
Has anyone had experience? Do I really need this procedure or should I see another specialist?? Confusing, that the inspection was done somehow hastily...

I had a colonoscopy, tk. I was at risk of developing intestinal obstruction. Torture is not torture, but nothing pleasant will happen for sure: In addition to the procedure itself, the two-day preparation for it also brings, and very desirable, so that you don’t leave the house for these couple of days.
I understand correctly, that you have cracks somewhere, sorry, the very exit?

Yes! That's why it confuses me, that the direction was given there, where half the body is examined.
On the other side, I read that colonoscopy – it's very useful, helps to detect cancer at an early stage.
What's so scary about preparation??

neon lights, Sorry, I accidentally copied your nickname along with your message

It's not scary.
Regarding the benefits, I won't argue here, the procedure is unique and really helps many people in diagnosing diseases.
Just keep in mind, what if you have a low pain threshold, then be sure to take anesthesia. for example, in our hospital, where they sent me, no pain relief at all. I had to go to a paid clinic and give 8 tr.
About preparation. A week before the procedure, you should follow a special diet., for 2 you are not allowed to eat for a day, only broths, juices and teas. And in a day you need to thoroughly cleanse your intestines with Fortrans. If you don't follow the instructions, then the money will be wasted, a colonoscope just won't work.

Jiulia, I would still advise you to consult another doctor.
In addition to the direction, this one said something else? Somehow explained/justified, why such a serious approach to cracks? Just a colonoscopy – It's really not going out to buy bread, and the preparation is not the easiest, and it costs a lot.

Well I think so, They gave me the referral because I said constipation was the cause of the cracks., which I have had since childhood.
You're right by the way, they didn't tell me anything else at all. They didn't advise me to go on a diet., not a candle, don't smear yourself with anything. Just a direction.
maybe, if only such an indifferent doctor had not been caught, I would definitely go for a colonoscopy ))

BUT, Well, in case of chronic constipation, this procedure will not be superfluous for you. Strange, of course, that the reason for the appeal was ignored, but constipation is caused not only by hemorrhoids, but what's worse. You yourself will be calmer later.
Just don’t skimp on pain relief.
